Due to the tremendous success Buffalo had in hosting the World Juniors hockey tournament 16 months ago, First Niagara Center will be the host of the inaugural All-American Prospects hockey game this fall.

The game will take place Saturday, September 29th at the First Niagara Center and will feature 40, top American hockey players who will be eligible for the 2013 NHL draft.

The Buffalo Sabres and USA Hockey made the joint announcement on Monday.  Sabres President Ted Black said "we are honored and excited that USA Hockey has selected the Sabres and the city of Buffalo to host this inaugural event."  He said it was just another example of the passion for hockey in this area and what he truly feels is hockey heaven.

Exactly how the players will be chosen is still a work in progress.  It'll likely be a collection of players from junior hockey, high schools and colleges chosen jointly by USA Hockey and NHL Central Scouting.
