Monumental Traffic Delays This Week in Western New York
The Buffalo Bills will play their first-ever regular-season game at the all-new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Thursday night, September 17. That event alone is expected to bring cars and traffic from all over Western New York to the Southtowns on Thursday afternoon.
In fact, some schools will be closing early to help accommodate the additional traffic expected in the area.
Rock the Country Festival Comes to Hamburg
But there is even more traffic expected in the Southtowns this weekend.
The highly anticipated Rock the Country music festival will be held at the Hamburg Fairgrounds, bringing thousands of additional people to the area.

The fun gets started on Friday afternoon with multiple opening acts, followed by Chris Janson and Hank Williams Jr.
The action continues on Saturday with a full day of music featuring a mix of country, hip-hop, and rock. Kid Rock will headline Saturday as part of what is expected to be a huge weekend of music and entertainment.

Expect Heavy Traffic in the Southtowns
If you live in the Southtowns or plan to be traveling Friday afternoon or Saturday for your kids’ practices, work, or other events, be prepared for additional traffic.
Drivers should expect heavier traffic, especially on Route 219 and the New York State Thruway near Hamburg and Orchard Park.
The same will be true Thursday afternoon as Western New York prepares for a historic week of football and music.
It is one of the best times of the year here in the Buffalo and Western New York region. There are so many fun things happening, but we all need to be patient when we’re on the road, allow ourselves extra time, and keep an eye out for additional traffic.
Let’s go, Buffalo!
