Buffalo Bills’ First Regular-Season Game at New Highmark Stadium
The Buffalo Bills have a brand-new stadium to call home, and the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park is pretty magnificent.

Recently, the stadium has gotten plenty of attention because of reports of obstructed views from certain seating areas. But by and large, fans who have been inside the stadium have raved about their experience. It is a beautiful new $2 billion home for Bills Mafia and the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills will begin their regular season on September 13 against the Houston Texans. However, the game that much of Western New York, and football fans across the country, is anticipating is the Thursday night matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions.
That game will be the first regular-season game played inside the new stadium and the first time a national television audience gets to see what everyone has been talking about.

Western New York Schools Could See Schedule Changes
If you live in the Western New York area, there is a good chance your child’s school could have some sort of schedule change related to that particular game.

Many schools located near the stadium are expected to release students early on September 17 to allow them to get home safely before fans begin arriving at the stadium for tailgating.
In other districts, you may find that Friday, September 18, could be either a day off or a half day.
It is interesting how many superintendent conference days, staff development days and other school schedule changes seem to line up around the Buffalo Bills’ schedule. Could it be a coincidence?
