As we get ready for the first official preseason football game at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, there has been plenty of debate about the design of the stadium’s interior. With roughly $2 billion being spent on this incredible new home of the Buffalo Bills, plenty of people have weighed in and shared their opinions about what they saw during last weekend’s Blue-Red Scrimmage.

But outside the stadium, it’s a completely different story, and there’s one spot you absolutely cannot overlook.

Buffalo Bills Preseason Game Brings Fans to the New Stadium

The weather looks great for this weekend’s preseason game featuring the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers. It’s doubtful that we will see much, if any, of the starters this weekend. The goal is to keep players healthy and avoid injuries before the regular season begins in September.

However, I have a feeling the seats will be packed.

This will be the first opportunity for many fans to watch the Buffalo Bills play an opponent inside the brand-new Highmark Stadium. Plus, after all of the drama and discussion surrounding this week’s Blue-Red Scrimmage, I’m sure plenty of people will want to go inside and see the new stadium for themselves.

But before you head inside, or even if you aren’t attending the preseason game this weekend, you need to check out some of the attractions around the outside of the stadium.

And if you have little kids, there is one spot you absolutely cannot miss.

Take a Walk Around the Outside of Highmark Stadium

Before last weekend’s Blue-Red Scrimmage, I took my wife and our four kids for a walk around the outside of the new stadium. We wanted to check it out, get some exercise and see what we could discover.

It’s actually a really nice walk, and you can get plenty of steps simply by making your way around the perimeter of the new stadium.

But along the way, don’t miss the sidewalk featuring the yardage markers and motion-activated speakers.

Our three-year-old daughter absolutely loved one particular stop along the way: the Van Miller “P A N D E M O N I U M” sound experience.

Van Miller’s Voice Brings Back Buffalo Bills Memories

Watching my daughter dance to the recording, hearing the legendary voice of Van Miller and seeing the brand-new Buffalo Bills stadium behind her literally gave me chills. It was hard to fight back a few tears.

I grew up during the era of the Buffalo Bills’ Super Bowl runs. Van Miller’s voice will forever be a part of my childhood.

Now, watching my kids experience this new era of the Buffalo Bills, and seeing them enjoy the brand-new stadium is truly something special.

It’s one of those moments that reminds you that a stadium is about much more than just football.

A Free Attraction at the New Highmark Stadium

If you have little ones in your life, take them over to the new Highmark Stadium and walk around the outside to check out this particular spot.

It’s free, it’s fun and it’s an incredible way to experience a small piece of the nearly $2 billion stadium without even having a game ticket.

And maybe, while you’re there, you’ll hear a familiar voice from the past reminding you just how special being a Buffalo Bills fan can be.

Sometimes you don’t have to go inside the stadium to experience a little P A N D E M O N I U M.
