Here is a question I’ve asked myself time and time again: “Why don’t I use coupons?”

The only answer I’ve come up with is that I’m lazy; I don’t want to be bothered by having to search for them, clip them and eventually take them to the checkout line.  But, the more I see how they can help save me money, the more I’m rethinking this whole thing.

We all get those value savers and weekly flyers from stores every week.  Those who are willing to take the time to clip the coupons or download one from the internet are doing it for a reason: to SAVE money.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve picked up flyers from my front porch that have been there for weeks or tossed coupons that I left sitting on the table but never redeemed. Last week, I went to a few different stores and glanced over my receipts knowing that I'm paying more for things that I could be saving money on if I bothered to use a coupon.

So, starting today I’m challenging myself to start coupons.  First order of business is to pay attention to what I spend my money on most often, then it’s on to searching for money-saving offers. A friend of mine suggested I check out shopAtHome.com. Hopefully I get as good at saving as the woman known as "The Coupon Lady". Wish me luck!
