Dion Dawkins Gives Back Big with 5th Annual Charity Kickball Game
The Buffalo Bills' Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee is continuing to give back by bringing back his 5th annual charity kickball game.
Dion Dawkins is known for being a charitable person
Bills' offensive lineman Dion Dawkins is pretty well known for being one of the best offensive tackles in the league. It has become his life mission to protect 17 (Josh Allen) when he's out on the field. It's something he takes a lot of pride in.
But he's also very proud of his charitable endeavors, too. For four years consecutively, he's been named the Bills' club winner and nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, which is given to a player who has shown commitment to philanthropy and community impact, as well as his excellence on the field.
"My work in Buffalo is a reflection of the city itself; we're always willing to help each other out when it is needed. It is a privilege to receive this recognition and know that I will continue to use my platform as a way to shine light on those unseen." - Dion Dawkins
Dion once again held his 5th annual Kickball Tournament
He calls it his Annual Shnowville Kickball Tournament, and this year he headed back home to Rahway, NJ, to host it. It featured 16 teams with 12 players on each team. During the tournament, he honored two high school seniors from Rahway High School with a Shnow Scholarship, one for athletics and one for special education. All proceeds benefited Dion’s nonprofit organization, Dion’s Dreamers.
Dion's Dreamers is in place to provide mentorship and support to young men and women in underserved communities, as well as those in a place of mental, financial, or physical hardship.
