Their "going out business" sale has been going on for several weeks now and the end is nearing for Bon Ton stores.  The company will be closing all of their 212 stores for good no later than this Wednesday.  Some could close before that.

Bon Ton has operated eight stores in Western New York.  Of those eight locations, one property already has a new tenant lined up.  The Eastern Hills store will be leased to Raymour and Flanagan.

The Lockport location along with several others will be auctioned off on September 2nd.  Plans have yet to be announced for stores in Tonawanda, West Seneca, McKinley Mall, Chautauqua Mall, Olean Center Mall and the former Summit Mall.

The closing of Bon Ton and Sears at the Summit Mall are the final nails in the coffin of what was once a thriving mall in the Town of Wheatfield.  A Canadian developer owns the property and a number of proposals have been aired out to replace the mall, but nothing has panned out.
