For all the great things he did against the Patriots, he just didn't get it done and Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Buffalo Bills come up losers again in Foxboro 37-31.  You can talk about statistics all you want, but Fitzpatrick had the outcome of the game in his hands and gave it away just like he has continuously in his career.

Fitzpatrick completed 27 of 40 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns, but a fumble during a sack led to the Patriots first touchdown and with the Bills on the verge of beating the Patriots for the first time ever at Gillette Stadium, Fitzpatrick threw one of his most accurate passes of the day right into the hands of the Patriots' Devin McCourty.  Game over.

Fred Jackson ran for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but a critical fumble cost the Bills a touchdown.

And penalties - the Bills should be embarrassed.  They were flagged 14 times for 148 yards.  The flag-fest started early with three in a row during the Bills first offensive series.   Three defensive penalties agasint the Bills for 59 yards made it easy for the Patriots to drive from their own 18 for their third touchdown of the day.

Even with all of that the Bills were just one play away from beating the Patriots at home and Fitzpatrick threw it away.

The Bills drop to 3 & 6 on the season.  They host Miami Thursday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
