Erie County will be offering another free rabies clinic this Saturday for dogs, cats, and ferrets.

This weekend's clinic is a drive-thru clinic which means you never have to leave your vehicle to get your pet their shot. I did this last year with my cat Stamp. We pulled right up. They grab her cat carrier, took her to the vet, who was right outside, and Stamp got her shot and was back in the car with me in about 5 minutes.

They also gave me the rabies paperwork so Stamp is covered for three years.

The clinic is free but you do have to sign up for a spot using Erie County's website.

Here are some things that you need to know before you bring your fur baby to the rabies clinic.

  • Dogs, cats, and ferrets 3 months of age and older are eligible for this clinic.
  • Up to three pets will be accepted per appointment.
  • Limit the number of people in the vehicle.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Appropriately restrain pets in a carrier or collar and short leash; no retractable or extended leashes.

This clinic will run from 9 am until 1 pm and will be located in the parking lot of the Erie County Emergency and Training Operations Center in Cheektowaga.

If you can't make the free rabies clinic on Saturday, there will be another free clinic coming up next month. This clinic will be a walk-in clinic and will be held on Saturday, October 8th from 9 am until 1 pm at The Broadway Market.
