Future Hall Of Famer To Be Honored During Bills/Saints Game
The Bills are playing on Thanksgiving once again. Last time they headed to Dallas. This time they're headed to New Orleans to take on the Saints.
All eyes will be on the Bills on Thanksgiving evening. Well...ok...all eyes will be on the Bills AND the Saints. Especially on their former and future hall of fame quarterback, Drew Brees.
Brees retired after the 2020 season after playing 15 seasons for the Saints. But he certainly hasn't disappeared from the spotlight altogether. Like his predecessor, Tony Romo, Brees has gotten into the broadcasting game. It makes sense. If anyone should be able to pick apart what a team is doing (on both offense and defense) it should be a quarterback. They have to read what's happening on a field faster and better than anyone out there.
It will be interesting to hear how unbiased Brees will be able to be as he gets behind the microphone on Thanksgiving evening to commentate the game as the Bills take on the Saints.
It doesn't end there. Brees will also be honored at halftime of the game.
“Drew Brees will always be considered one of the greatest Saints in the history of the organization. While we look forward to one day welcoming Drew back as a Hall of Famer and a member of our Ring of Honor, Thanksgiving night is the perfect opportunity for us to say thank you to Drew and his family the right way- on the field and in front of 70,000 of the best fans in football. We were blessed to have Drew as a member of our team for 15 years. The record-breaking impact he had on the field is legendary, as is the impact he, Brittany, and the Brees family continue to have on our community.” - Saints owner Gayle Benson
The Bills take on the Saints at the Caesars Superdome at 8:20pm on Thanksgiving evening. There is no word on whether or not the ceremony will be televised or if they will feature something else at that time.
