Starbucks announced that today you can get a special limited edition reusable red Holiday cup today when you order any handcrafted holiday beverage.

According to a press release from Starbucks, the reusable red Holiday cup is the same  "classic holiday red, with playful swirls of shimmering ribbon dancing against a starry sky," design that is currently used on their paper cups.

The reusable cup is made with 50% recycled materials and every time they use the reusable cup when ordering a drink they will save 10 cents on that order.

To get the reusable Holiday cup from Starbucks you must order one of their hand-crafted beverages. They include the apple crisp macchiato, peppermint mocha, pumpkin cream cold brew, and toasted white hot chocolate. The drinks can be ordered hot, iced, or blended.

Regular brews or iced drinks along with coffee beans are not part of this promotion.

Starbucks started offering special holiday cups back in 1997 and those old designs are very hard to find. Many of those designs files were lost during a 2001 earthquake.

While Starbucks is known for its red Holiday cups, the first one in 1997 was more of a purple color and featured a coffee bean and swirl design.  The first year that Starbucks used the iconic red color was in 1999. Since then red has been the primary color used for holiday cups.
