The final weekend of 2024 will be warm in New York State. Going outside? Be ready for rain followed by lake effect snow.

The new year is about to arrive and it is winter. The cold air will be back before we know it. However, according to most forecasts, the temps are going to be way above the average for the end of December.

The snow that you see in your yard will be gone before the ball drops on New Year's Eve!

The forecast for this Sunday in Western New York indicates that the temp will reach near 55 degrees!

The words "lake effect" are still in the picture as the Great Lakes around New York State are still wide open!

"Warm weather will finish out 2024, followed by colder weather for the New Year. Fair today, with periods of rain this weekend and into next week. Becoming colder Wed and Thu, with lake effect snow developing. Then a cold and sometimes snowy pattern is favored through Jan 9th".
