Governor Andrew Cuomo held his usual press conference late Monday morning and gave an update on the COVID-19 pandemic across the state.

When the topic of Western New York came up, Governor Cuomo praised the region for getting ahead of their positivity rate. Western New York went from the worst positivity rate in the state to the fourth-lowest.

The region's current positivity rate is 6.43 percent according to WGRZ. However, the state as a whole has seen an uptick in COVID-19 cases, as the state tries to figure out what exactly caused the sudden rise.

The topic of the Buffalo Bills also came up and the governor said they are still working with the Bills on a pilot plan to get fans back in the stadium in time for the team's playoff game. He said more news would be coming soon.
