The population of Japanese Beatles this summer seems to be bigger than most summers. What can you do? Here are a few options.

It starts out slow, but after a few weeks, your rose bushes and plants may be overtaken by these little flying menaces. Here are a few things you can do to keep them away.

We have been inundated with them around our house and our rose bushes are paying a heavy price. I put up a few bags But I wonder if that only brings more to the area?

The most effective seems to be just taking them off by hand.

1. Handpicking: Removing the Japanese beetles you see manually may be time-consuming, but it’s one of the most effective ways to get them out of the garden. Fill a bucket with hot soapy water and hold it beneath the plants as you gently shake them. The bugs will fall into the water and drown by morning. The smell they give off in the bucket will help fend off other beetles
