Chances are that this Sunday at your Easter Dinner, there will be a stick of butter crafted to look like a lamb...but why?

Here is a quick history of the Butter Lamb.

The tradition of craving the butter into a shape of a lamb started with Russian, Slovenian and Polish Catholics.

The lamb is a symbol of the sacrifice of Jesus (The Lamb Of God) made on Good Friday. Most lambs will also have a red ribbon tied around it which symbolizes the blood of Christ.

Usually, the eyes are made with peppercorns.
