Hot Air Balloon Festival Happening This Weekend in New York State

This is something that you only see on social media, but now it is happening in New York State.

There are going to be hundreds of hot air balloons taking flight in the sky for a really cool experience this weekend.

It is called the 'Red White & Blue Balloon Festival' and will happen on May 24 to the 26. Hot air balloons will take off from the Archery Field Overlook and will float above the Genesee River Gorge.

It is absolutely free, but you do have to pay for parking if you are going to be parking at Letchworth. It is 10 bucks.

What are the times that the hot air balloons will take off?

You can double check before you go. The organizers have a full schedule here for you to take a look at and it is updated in real time. Here are the tentative times for the hot air balloon launches now:

• Friday, May 25 between 6 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
• Saturday, May 25 between 6a.m. - 8 a.m. & 6 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
• Sunday, May 26 between 6 a.m. - 8 a.m.

You can go take a ride in one of the hot air balloons!

It is going to cost you, but it could be a really, really cool experience. Depending on which balloon operators are willing to take other people. Some of the rates go from 400 bucks all the way up to $2,000.
