The weather sure has been weird over the last few months around New York State. One morning it is well below zero and the next afternoon it is raining with 50 degrees! It is bad news for the ski resorts and bars that depend on snowmobile trails to be open. But for those who don't love winter, this may be a good year so far.

Buffalo, New York has seen a historic blizzard and even an earthquake within the last two months and although those things are not related, it would be a safe bet to believe that we may see an incredibly hot summer coming for Western New York and the rest of the Empire State.

The first day of summer arrives with the solstice on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:58 a.m. EDT. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, Earth is tilting mostly toward the Sun.

With so many great events and concerts to look forward to, who doesn't have spring fever? This past weekend, the temperatures in the Buffalo area were approaching 50 degrees and it felt like spring was moving in. Regardless of what the groundhog said, Lake Erie is not fully frozen and there are some warmer than average temps on the way. When spring officially arrives, it will be a quick warm up...hopefully.
