Everyone Is Buying Homes Here In Western New York

You know what they say about real estate purchases.  The most important thing is "location, location, location."

If the location of the home you want to buy is still important, then 14217 should be the zip code that you're looking at.

Each year, The Business Journal does a study to find out what the hottest zip codes are all across the country.  Last year, in Western New York that zip code was Clarence.  This year, it was 14217.

14217 covers areas in Kenmore and some in Tonawanda.

The data is from Intercontinental Exchange Inc. and it is based on fourth-quarter listings and sales.  To be included, the zip code had to have an average sale price of at least $250,000 and 10 listings sold in the quarter.  The ranking is meant to show where people are active with buying and selling houses.  They're hoping to show that prices are increasing there and people are quickly buying them still.

Other zip codes that showed up in the top 5 of this list include 14221 (Williamsville), 14731 (Ellicottville), 14214 (Buffalo, and 14482 (LeRoy in Genesee County).

Just because a zip code is listed in this ranking doesn't mean that it has the most luxurious houses and they're the most expensive.  It just means that people are getting more for their houses here and that they're selling quickly.
