Igloo Dining Coming to South Buffalo This Winter
We're just a few days from Christmas Day, which means the winter season has officially begun in Western New York.
Despite the fact that the temperatures will be unseasonably warm between now and towards New Year's, the bitterly cold temperatures will be here eventually and even temps in the 30's can be harsh with that wind.
Over the last several years, there has been a very popular tradition in Buffalo.
Igloo dining.
Basically, you and 4-6-8-10 of your family or friends can dine in a giant igloo, complete with heating and a full course meal; with drinks. They are very popular at Tappo in downtown Buffalo and now, one of the staples of South Buffalo will have them this winter.

According to their Facebook page, Blackthorn Restaurant and Pub will have igloo dining by reservation, starting on December 26th.
The time limit is 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a deposit, along with a $200 spending limit. That is common with igloo dining, especially with it accommodating so many people at once.
The best time for igloo dining is between Christmas and New Year's, which is what they're emphasising right now. Many people have off from work and school, and family is still in from out of town. It's a perfect time to enjoy igloo dining.
Despite the fact that it can get very cold in Western New York, we do find a way to have plenty of fun with the winter months, and the advent of igloo dining is certainly no different.
