Iconic South Buffalo Bar Finally Reopens
We're now past January, which means we're getting closer to St. Patrick's Day, which happens to fall on a Sunday this year.
It's always the best when St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. This year happens to fall on the day we have the St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Buffalo. While downtown is always a fun time to celebrate the holiday, many believe nothing beats the traditions in South Buffalo.
The large Irish community in South Buffalo makes St. Patrick's Day a festive party every Marcy, with bars such as Doc Sullivan's, Potter's, Blackthorn and Talty's.
We now have another great bar in South Buffalo, which had a grand reopening this past weekend.
Molly McGuire's on Abbott Road in South Buffalo reopened this past weekend, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The famous bar and performance venue is under new ownership, as they begin a fresh new start.
Molly McGuire's is in a great location. It's a stone-throw away from the Cazenovia intersection and a two-minute drive from Doc Sullivan's. It's the stretch of Abbott that really did need another great Irish bar, and Molly's is back after a hiatus.
I actually live just down the road, in the neighborhood off of Abbott and Eden (near Imperial Pizza), so you can bet that I'll be venturing with friends to Molly McGuire's on Abbott Road.
The countdown is on: less than six weeks away from St. Patrick's Day in South Buffalo.
