Don't blink, or you might miss it. There's a parade happening this weekend, but it's not going to be long. As a matter of fact, they're calling it the "World's Shortest Parade."

This Sunday is the start of a very special season in Western New York. It's the beginning of St. Patrick's Day Season, and it even has a name. They call it "Green Sunday" and it's the first Sunday of March every year.

To commemorate the big day, the City of Tonawanda is holding what they're calling the "World's Shortest Parade."

Where is the "World's Shortest Parade?"

If you want to join in on the fun, the World's Shortest Parade will be taking place this Sunday in Tonawanda at noon on Main Street and end at the Canal Street Pavilion. There will be music by 3Parts Whiskey. Irish adult beverages and seltzers will be provided by Dwyer’s Irish Pub. They will also have corned beef and other food provided for sale.

What if the weather is bad?

The weather isn't looking terrible. Right now, they're calling for a cloudy day with a slight chance of snow showers before 1 pm. Then they expect it to gradually become mostly sunny, with a high near 24. However, if something changes in the meantime, the freeze and storm date will be March 8.

Does it cost anything?

Admission to the parade is free, and outside beverages will not be allowed. If you'd like to support the event, there will be beverages and food for purchase to help the organizations that are organizing it.

How long will it last?

It is the shortest parade after all. However, they're expecting it to last around 3 and a half hours, with after-parties scheduled following the parade.
