Interesting Move By This New York State Grocery Chain
The next time you are in a Tops Markets in the Buffalo, New York area, you may see a bit of a change.
This past weekend, much of Western New York was preparing for two things; the AFC Championship game and a wind storm. The grocery stores were packed with shoppers packing their carts with goodies and essentials.
However, if you had not been to the store in a week or two, there was a change made that may have caught your attention.
As I walked in to the Tops Market on South Park Avenue in Hamburg, I couldn't help but notice that the red shopping carts had been replaced by gray carts!!
There really is not any difference that I could see to the carts other than the color. And there is a good chance that nobody else would even notice the color change. However, as a father of four kids, all under the age of 9, using a grocery cart (sometimes two at a time) is essential! The cart is not only a way to gather the stuff we are buying, it is also a great way to contain the kids as we navigate the store!
Speaking of grocery carts, did you know that there is a law on the books here in New York State that deals directly with grocery cart theft? There are some stiff penalties if you break the law!
