Officials with the US Food and Drug Administration are warning parents to double-check their pantries as more reports of children getting sick from eating tainted apple sauce have come out.

The USDA issued a massive recall for Cinnamon applesauce pouches sold under the WanaBana, Weis, and Schnucks earlier this month when over 20 children became sick after eating them.

The apple sauce pouches were sold nationwide at Dollar Trees and online at Amazon.com.

The USDA is now reporting that over 50 children in 25 different states have experienced some form of illness after eating the recalled applesauce.

The apple sauce is being recalled due to excessive amounts of lead that could lead to lead poisoning.

Since the apple sauce pouches have a long shelf life, you should double-check your pantry and throw out any of the pouches that are part of the recall.
