They're back and this year they are helping a local non-profit in Western New York.

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, Shamrock Shakes are back at area McDonalds and this year when you get the tasty minty treat you will also be helping out the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York

The mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York is to provide essential services and help families when their children are battling health issues. They have been helping families in need since 1983 and they not only help kids in Western New York, but kids all across the state and all across the world.

Some of the money raised from the Shamrock Shake fundraiser will help to provide families with a welcoming environment with the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Oishei Children's Hospital. It is a place where families can just be and focus on their time together.

Some other programs that will benefit from the fundraiser are the Happy Wheels Cart at both Oishei Children's Hospital and Sisters of Charity Hospital. The Happy Meal cart travels to patient floors and rooms offering children and their families free snacks and drinks during their stay at the hospitals.
