This year you will have one less place in Western New York to get scared for Halloween. This year, Darien Lake has canceled its annual Fright Fest.

Six Flags Darien Lake Cancels Fright Fest

For the past several years, Darien Lake had turned parts of its amusement park into a zombie-infested scare park, but that will change this year. Officials with the park announced that they are canceling Fright Fest this year to focus on more family-friendly events in October.

Instead of Fright Fest this year, the park will hold several Oktoberfest-themed weekends through the end of September and then offer a Kids Boo Fest on Saturdays and Sundays through October 11th.

According to their website, Oktoberfest at Darien Lake will highlight German beers, food, music, and more.

Kids Boo Fest Coming To Six Flags Darien Lake

Darien Lake has turned its annual Fright Fest into a more kid-friendly event with weekend Kids Boo Fest.  The event happens during the daytime and encourages kids to dress up in their Halloween costumes and enjoy a family-friendly event at the park. You can learn more about Kids Boo Fest HERE.
