Buffalo Sabres Enforcer Rips Terry Pegula
The Sabres had another awful year, and now that it's just about over, fingers are getting pointed in the direction of the owner.
The Buffalo Sabres are playing their last game of the season tonight. To say that the season was a disappointment is a huge understatement. It's been 14 years now since the Sabres have made the postseason, and naturally, fans are looking for someone to blame.
Where does the blame belong?
While a lot of people believe General Manager Kevyn Adams should shoulder a lot of the blame, others feel like it's the owner, Terry Pegula's fault. One of those people is former Buffalo Sabres enforcer Matthew Barnaby, who didn't hold back his feelings today on X.
Buffalo Sabres columnist Mike Harrington made a comment on X, that he always thought Terry Pegula didn't want an NHL guy "giving him the mutuels on everything he’s done wrong and is doing wrong." That's when Barnaby chimed in, claiming that Pegula only wants puppets working for him.
Why are the Bills and Sabres so different?
The craziest thing about the Sabres' failure over the past 14 years is the Bills' success. While the Bills seem to have turned things around and are suddenly challengers for the Super Bowl every year, the Sabres can't even make the postseason. Yet, they're both owned by the same guy. How could one franchise be so much different from the other when they both have the same owner?
All that we know as fans is that we are ready for a change. We want our Sabres back. Most seem to wish that Pegula would hire someone in the front office who knows hockey and trust them to run the team. Let them make decisions and do what's right, because they've gone entirely too long without a chance at a cup for a city that's supposed to be "hockey heaven."
