Reba McEntire Says Her Wedding to Rex Linn Might Be ‘Three or Four Days’ Long

Reba McEntire jokes that wedding planning with fiancé Rex Linn is going "not very well" — but it's all for good reason.

Not only are the couple juggling busy on-screen careers as co-stars in Happy's Place, but they're also aiming for an elaborate, multi-day ceremony that includes all their family, friends and animals.

When Are Reba McEntire + Rex Linn Getting Married?

The couple haven't even hinted that they've got a date nailed down. On the contrary, McEntire tells Entertainment Tonight that their nuptials keep getting pushed back.

"Every time we plan on something, he gets a job, or we get back into the third season [of Happy's Place] and hoping for more," McEntire explains. "And you can't plan something that we think is going to be a week or two."

"It's not going to be a wedding day, it's going to have to be three or four days," she points out.

It sounds like the couple want to make sure that veryone who's special to them gets an invite. That includes the many animals in their lives.

"Well, see, not only do we have granddogs, we have long-horned steers. We have donkeys. We have horses. And dogs," McEntire says. "So it's going to be a very unusual wedding on the farm."

Reba McEntire + Rex Linn's Love Story

McEntire and Linn first met in 1991 on the set of the movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw, starring Kenny Rogers. McEntire was married to Narvel Blackstock at the time.

She and Linn reconnected in 2020 and began dating via virtual dates over the COVID-19 pandemic. They made their red carpet debut at the CMA Awards that year. In 2024, they both signed on for Happy's Place, a new NBC sitcom starring McEntire as a woman who inherits her late father's bar, only to discover that she has a half-sister she never knew about who will share the bar with her. Linn plays a cook, and eventually, McEntire's on-screen love interest, too.

McEntire and Linn announced their engagement in September 2025, nearly a year after he proposed in late 2024.

She's said that they didn't really intend to keep their news a secret. They meant to announce their engagement after the Christmas holiday, but when they returned to Los Angeles, a streak of deadly wildfires hit the city, and they felt that celebrating publicly "wasn't appropriate."

Reba McEntire is About to Be a Grandma

By the time McEntire and Linn finally make it to the altar, it's likely that another very special family member will have joined the party. The singer's son Shelby Blackstock is currently expecting his first child with his wife Marissa, and she's due in October.

The couple announced the pregnancy in April, and Marissa has also been open about their experience with infertility and IVF.

The couple's first child will be a boy, and according to decorations at their baby shower, his name will be Archer.

McEntire herself hasn't spoken much publicly about her grandbaby-to-be, but photos show that she was at the shower, Marissa also posted a photo of a special record plaque where guests wrote messages for baby Archer, and among them is a note that appears to read, "We're gonna have so much fun!" signed, "Grandma Reba."
