The Buffalo Bills selected former Flordia Gator Kaiir Elam with the 23rd overall pick in last week's NFL draft and he should be very familiar with AFC football since his dad played with the New York Jets from 2007 until 2009.
His father Abram Elam recorded his only pick-six in his NFL career against the Buffalo Bills. It was in 2008 and the interception came against former Bills QB Trent Edwards.
Football runs in the Elam family. Besides his father, Kaiir's uncle also played in the NFL. Matt Elam was a 1st round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2013 NFL draft. He was selected 32nd overall that year.
Matt Elam currently plays in the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Elks.
Let's hope that Kaiir got some of that ball-hawking skills from his dad and uncle and we will see plenty of pick-sixes from the youngest Elam during his NFL career.
The newest Buffalo Bills will take part in a "Rookie" mini-camp this month and they will be joined by the rest of the team later this month for OTAs.
Organized Team Activities will take place in Orchard Park, on May 23-24, May 26, May 31, June 1-2, June 6-7, and June 9-10.
The Bills will have their official training camp starting in July at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York.
