It's situations like this that make Bills Mafia scratch their heads. We have been raised to believe that anyone who plays against the Bills is the enemy. Yet, we still want to root for one of our own.

Former Maryvale Defensive Tackle Taking The Field Against The Bills

Kevin Jobity Jr. is on a mission tonight. He will be on the field as the Bills take on the Steelers in Buffalo, but he won't be playing for the home team. For now, Jobity is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he's hoping to keep it that way.

The former Maryvale and Syracuse defensive tackle will be suiting up to prove what he's got against his hometown team. He's been on the team since April 25th when he signed with them as an undrafted free agent.

COVID gave Jobity the opportunity to play football for the first time

High school sports were a challenge during COVID. Schedules got switched around and messed up, but it also gave some kids the opportunity to play different sports. The 2020-2021 football season was moved to the Spring that year. Because of that, many kids who previously had to choose between soccer and football in the fall were able to play both.

According to WNY Athletics, Jobity played football for the first time during that season because he had just finished playing soccer and when the high school coach saw him and asked him to play, he took a chance at it.

It turned out, he was pretty good. He was second on the team in tackles and had 4 sacks. His senior year, he had 7 sacks and 67 tackles. None of that is easy to do when you're new to the sport.

Jobity has wanted to be in the NFL since high school

Shortly after those big seasons at Maryvale, Jobity made the NFL his goal.

Tonight he's got a chance to solidify his dream and make it to an actual NFL roster. He will have his work cut out for him against the Bills, but this is one of those occasions where it's ok to root for someone on the other team.
