A Lancaster middle school teacher was killed over the weekend when the fishing boat he was in crashed into a break wall near the Buffalo Small Boat Harbor.  43-year old Eric Przykuta and two other men were in the boat at the time of the crash.  Przykuta was the only one not wearing a life preserver.  His body was recovered around 9 am Sunday morning.

Buffalo Police, Buffalo Fire, Hamburg Police, the Erie County Sheriff's Department and helicopters from as far away as Michigan all teamed up in the search for the victim.

Przykuta was a highly respected teacher who taught science at the Lancaster Middle School and was president of the teachers' association for the past 10 years.  He also coached modified boys lacrosse.  He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Lancaster schools will have grief counselors available when schools open on Monday morning.
