Langford, The Best Tractor Pull In New York State

The weather is hot and humid and August is here! That means it's time for the best events of the summer and time to get back outside and feel the energy and horsepower of the best tractor pull in the Northeast and all of New York State.

The Langford-New Oregon firefighters invite you to join them for the annual, 2-day, truck and tractor pull this Saturday and Sunday!

There was a time when I was asked (and honored) to be the announcer for tractor pull around New York State. It was such an exciting summer of visiting different small agricultural towns in the Empire State and learning about the tractors, trucks and the people that build these powerful pulling machines. But there was always one that stood out and was circled on the schedule; Langford weekend!

There was a time when the Down Home Country weekend in Langford included a huge country music jamboree on Saturday followed by the truck and tractor pull on Sunday. Both events drew thousands of fans and the jamboree featured some of the biggest and best names in country music. I miss the days of the jamboree. If it wasn't for the jamboree, I wouldn't have met my wife. A GREAT story for another time. But I do completely understand the move to a two-day pull as it is the biggest motorsports event in Western New York every August!

If you get a chance, go to a tractor pull. Not only are they big fundraisers for some great organizations in New York State, they are backed and fueled mostly by the hard working farmers who spend countless hours working on their pulling machines. Many of them go home with nothing more than your applause.
