It was a question mark heading into the off season.  Would the Bills re-sign free agent linebacker Lorenzo Alexander?  Today, they made it official.  He's staying with the Bills.

He was brought on as a bit of a journeyman.  For 10 years he was in the NFL filling out rosters on special teams and as a depth player on defense.  But Buffalo has changed him from a backup to a pro bowl veteran leader.

Alexander is 35 years old and many will question whether he can still play in the NFL but his veteran leadership in the locker room cannot be discounted.  He is a huge asset to that team and is still a major player on the field.

According to the NFL, Alexander compiled 35 starts, 223 tackles, 22 sacks, 16 passes defended, eight forced fumbles and three interceptions over the past 3 seasons with The Bills. He also earned Pro Bowl honor in 2016.

He signed a one-year contract to stay with the Bills this season.
