Maple weekend will be here soon. If you've ever wondered what it takes to bring maple products from the woods to your table, this weekend is for you.

New York State is home to over 2000 maple producers, and we're blessed with some of the most tappable maple trees in the country. The only state that produces more maple products in the United States is Vermont.

What does it take to make maple syrup?

But what does it take to make maple syrup? How can you get your hands on a bag of maple candies or a chance to slurp down a mapleccino? All of those questions can be answered during any of the upcoming Maple Weekends being held across New York State. It's an opportunity for maple producers to show what they can do and help you to learn more about what goes into maple production.

What do they do during Maple Weekend?

Often, they offer free samples and have maple products you can buy on-site. Every farm or location is different in what they can offer, but some will give you a tour of the sugar shack, some will show you how to tap a tree, and some will take you on wagon rides to see the maple process from start to finish.

There are events taking place across the state in New York. There's even an official website where you can go to learn more.
