New York State’s FREE RIDE Is This Weekend
There is a major freebie for being offered in New York State and the weather may be ideal for it.
There are thousands of great snowmobile trails to ride on in New York State. From the Adirondacks, to Tug Hill and across dozens of counties, we are blessed to have some of the best riding in the Northeast.
But if it has been a while since you have been on that sled, there is some good news.
According to a post from the New York State Parks' website, there is going to o be a couple of free weekends for those who love to ride a snowmobile.
The post, in part, mentions that: "Governor Kathy Hochul today announced two free snowmobile weekends for all out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers to rev their engines and explore what New York has to offer. New York State will waive registration fees for out-of-state snowmobilers February 28-March 2 and March 7-9, 2025, encouraging out-of-state visitors to come ride the more than 10,000 miles of snowmobile trails in New York State".
The registration fees for those who want to ride any other time is over $100. It is $135 for one year of registration. IF you have a club membership, the fee is $65.
I have been riding a sled for years and the conditions were perfect for much of this winter. The weekend that we were on Tug Hill we got more than four feet over a few days! When the clubs can get the trails groomed, you simply can't beat the trails in that area of the state!
