How Do The Automatic Speed Cameras Work?

The cameras are set up in work zones all across New York State. If you are caught going 11 miles per hour or more than the posted speed limit in those zones, the camera will automatically send you a ticket in the mail.

If you get a ticket, you have to pay the fine. There will be no points added to your license unless you get multiple infractions.

You will know that there are automatic speed cameras being used in the work zone, as there will be clearly posted signs along the road before, during, and after the zone.

There will also be a check of every infraction captured on the camera before tickets are issued and sent to the address of the registered vehicle.

The New York State Troopers are also in the middle of the 100 deadliest days of summer, which means there are more patrols and checkpoints out and about to keep motorists safe this summer.
