There was a massive house fire that leveled a home in Western New York State this week.

According to multiple reports, the fire in Lancaster, New York broke out on Monday afternoon and the flames and smoke could be seen from miles away.

Late Monday, the fire was the lead story on most local newscasts.

Channel 4 in Buffalo, New York ran the following report.

The house been demolished and our thoughts are with the family who lived in the house on Central Avenue. The fire is under investigation.


NEW YORK STATE FIRE BAN

There is a brush fire/burn ban that is in place for the next few weeks across New York State. The ban started on March 16th and will continue until at least May. If fire officials in New York decide the conditions are still not safe, it is possible that the ban could be extended.
