Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that a teenage suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting and stabbing incidents at McKinley High School. A 17-year-old male was arraigned today, February 14, 2022, Youth Part Justice Kelly Brinkworth. The teen was charged with,

one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (Class “B” violent felony)
one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony)
one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony).

On Wednesday, February 9, just before 4 pm, the suspect and multiple other individuals were involved in a fight at the high school. A 14-year-old male was beaten and stabbed multiple times. A security guard, who was trying to break up the altercation, was shot in the leg allegedly by the suspect. A 13-year-old was grazed by a bullet as well but didn't initially report his injuries to the police.

The teen suspect is due back in court this Friday, February 18, at 1:30 pm. He remains behind bars at the Erie County Youth Services Center.

Arrest Made In Stabbing At McKinley High School, Teen Captured

A teenage suspect has been arrested for stabbing at McKinley High School in Buffalo. Police moved quickly to apprehend a suspect in the violent incident that happened at the school on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. A 14-year-old was stabbed and a security guard was shot in the leg. A 17-year-old male has been captured by police in connection to the school violence. The suspect's name has not been released. The victim received multiple stab wounds and was taken to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where he is recovering, according to WIVB.

The person suspected of shooting the security guard, 27-year-old Brad Walker, who was trying to help the 14-year-old victim, has not been caught yet. Walker was treated at Erie County Medical Center and released.

Teen Stabbed In Downtown Buffalo

Also on Wednesday, there was another stabbing involving a teen. It happened in downtown Buffalo at Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square around the same time as the incident at McKinley, according to WGRZ. Buffalo Police are investigating this incident.
