It was a thrill meeting new artist Dakota Bradley, who stopped in last week to play some of his music.

I rarely use the word thrilled when describing the meeting of new artists, but it was a thrill for a number of reasons. I think sometimes I take it for granted how cool it is to work in this industry. I was having a rough morning when Dakota visited, and seeing how excited and enthusiastic he was about playing for me really brought me back to how much of an honor it is to work in country music.

Dakota caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres when he visited her show in 2010, and it's been an exciting ride for him ever since. Dakota moved to Nashville and met Tim McGraw, who he worked with on his first release, coming soon.
