The Buffalo Bills had locker room cleanout day on Monday, with players speaking to the media; following the AFC Divisional round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

The most interesting soundbites came from Gabe Davis and Jordan Phillips.

Davis mentioned to the media that he plans on hitting free agency but is open to being back in Buffalo. Phillips said that "this might be it," regarding a potential retirement.

On Tuesday, head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane spoke to the media in their annual year-end press conferences.

Beane had one of the most interesting quotes of the day, referring to Micah Hyde and whether or not he will be back in 2024.

Beane admitted that retirement is a possibility with Hyde and that it's also not a slam dunk he can be re-signed if he continues playing.

Hyde is 33 and has recent neck injuries. Both factors, as brutal as it may be, are important factors for both Hyde mulling retirement and the Bills' desire to bring him back if he doesn't retire.

Jordan Poyer has one year left on his contract and the Bills would save $5 million in cap space by releasing him. There's no guarantee he will return as well. We very well may have seen the last snap in a Bills uniform for both Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer.

The Bills are way over the salary cap. They will be forced to get younger and let go veterans in the process. This is because of the cap hits to Josh Allen, as well as other players such as Stefon Diggs, Dion Dawkins, Ed Oliver and Von Miller.

Beane and McDermott also mentioned that they have to do something about getting more explosive plays for the offense, which might be alluding to getting wide receiver help in the draft.

We shall see. Outside of wide receiver, safety and defensive line depth are two other critical positions to address this spring.
