Mindy McCready Dead at 37

The tumultuous life of singer Mindy McCready came to a tragic end Sunday evening when she died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in her Heber Springs, Arkansas home.

She also shot and killed her dog.  Her father had been staying with her recently and according to McCready's brother she seemed to be fine when her father left Sunday morning to return to Florida.

McCready had been struggling with alcohol and mental health issues and it was just two weeks ago when she checked herself into a rehab facility.  It was less than a month ago that her boyfriend, producer David Wilson died in what initially has been ruled a suicide.

Mindy McCready recorded five albums in her career.  She leaves two young sons.
