Just two hours outside of Buffalo, a missing kangaroo was reunited with its owner.

According to WIVB, the female kangaroo was reported missing Saturday afternoon in Jerusalem, which is about two hours away from Buffalo.

The animal was reported missing from the area of Coates Road and Williams Hill Road.

While visiting family in the area, owner Laura Miller reported the kangaroo had gotten away.

By the next afternoon, the kangaroo was captured and reunited with its owner.

It seems like it would be tricky to catch a missing kangaroo in Central New York, but with the help of volunteers she was recovered safely.

According to WIVB:

“A Yates County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to secure the animal with use of a blanket.

“The Sheriff’s Office thanks the approximately 40 – 50 volunteers assisting in the lost area vicinity, the forming a circle during capture, as well as all the calls received,” said Sheriff Ron Spike.”

The kangaroo appeared "scared, cold, and hungry,” but uninjured, according to officials.
