They're kind of like ghosts.  Either you believe they exist, or you don't.  There isn't a whole lot of in between when it comes to UFOs.  But according to a recent story on WIVB, a lot of them have been reported here in Western New York. The sightings aren't just people saying to their friends that they saw a UFO.  They're actually recorded at MUFON, or the Mutual UFO Network.

Put the tin foil hat wearing weirdos out of your mind.  The people who work at MUFON don't chase around strange claims trying to find life on other planets.  These people take reports from citizens who see things they don't understand or recognize and hope to make sense of them.

If they cannot be identified, they're unknown, they become UFOs.

According to WIVB, one of the people who now works at MUFON is a retired NY State Police Captain named Jack Fay and he claims that most people that make the reports are just trying to make sense of what they're seeing.

“Most people are decent people and they just seen something that they don’t understand and that’s what we’re here for,” Fay said. “Mostly my job a lot of times with this and the paranormal is to try to explain to people well look, maybe this is what you seen. I’m not telling you what you seen. But it could be something like this or this,  instead of extraterrestrial. That’s the last place we want to look.”

The sightings in this story came from West Seneca and Ovid, NY.  There have been over 900 sightings around the world.  Are you a believer yet?
