New Mask Mandate Issued For Western New York Town

A new mask mandate has been issued in one town in Western New York in order to protect residents and town employees.

On Twitter, The Town of Tonawanda stated that they will once again require anyone who enters a town-owned facility to wear a mask.

It doesn't matter if you are vaccinated or not, you will have a wear a mask when going inside a publicly run building.

The town started in the Tweet that they were re-issuing the mask mandate to better protect the residents of the Town of Tonawanda and employees of the town. The new mask policy will go into effect on Monday, November 22nd.

Cases of COVId-19 positive cases have rapidly risen in Erie County over the past couple of weeks. There were 770 new positive cases in the county on November 18th.
Erie County had a total of 6992 positive cases of COVID-19 between November 5th thru November 18th.

Niagara County had a total of 1806 positive cases of COVID-19 between November 5th thru November 18th.

Tonawanda Town Supervisor Joe Emminger also stated that town officials are asking that everyone who lives in the Town or does busy in the town get the COVID-19 vaccine.
