New Smoke Alarm Law For Western New York

This would be the perfect time to update your current smoke detectors!

As of April 1st, there is a new law regarding smoke detectors/alarms in New York.

According to Metro Source News:

...all new or replacement smoke detectors that are sold must be powered by a sealed and non-removable battery with a 10 year lifespan.

The best way to make sure your house is ready, replace old alarms and check them twice per year. The best reminder is during the time changes in the fall and spring.
