NFL Fines Ref $500,000 + Suspended For Call?
Did the NFL really suspend and fine a ref for the bad play-calling that they made during the AFC Championship game?
There is no doubt that the officiating in the NFL this season has been a wildly popular topic that fans have been pointing out. There have been some calls that seem to have changed the dynamic of a game, if not deciding a game. Fans also can't help but notice that the Kansas City Chiefs always seem to get help from missed or mistaken calls. During the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs game in the AFC Championship, there were calls that were pointed out that may have been wrong during the game.
Fans were circulating a rumor that the NFL had fined the refs and suspended some, and even another rumor that Bills owner Kim Pegula had asked the NFL to reschedule the game. Did the NFL fine a ref 500,000 dollars? A simple search and find on the NFL websites see that this is just simply not true. A Facebook post said:
"The NFL has announced a $500,000 fine and a 10-game suspension for referee Clete Blakeman, who officiated the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, due to bribery allegations, prompting a strong response from Andy Reid demanding justice for Clete Blakeman."
