More casinos. More attractions. More hotels. That is the plan for Niagara Falls to become "Vegas of the North" once a multi-billion dollar investment is made to bring more people and compete with Las Vegas.

The goal: Niagara Falls to be as big as Las Vegas.

Premier Doug Ford was speaking outside of the Niagara Falls, Ontario to announce the plan. He invited the biggest casinos in the world to come set up shop in Niagara Falls. What are the 5 big things that they are going to focus on bringing more of:

  • attractions
  • transportation
  • gaming
  • wine and restaurants
  • arts and culture

Potential projects include a theme park and others redevelopments and revitalizations, said a news release from the province. The aim of the "multibillion-dollar" strategy, the province said, is to "attract 25 million annual visitors" and double the region’s tourism impact, generating an additional $3 billion for Ontario’s GDP every year, according to CBC.

Right now there are 3 major casinos that are in Niagara Falls, Ontario where in Las Vegas, there are about 175 major casinos. There is quite the difference there to become possibly competitive with Las Vegas. It is important to note that Vegas has tripled the number of casinos in recent years, they never had THAT many casinos.
