We Need One Of These In Buffalo Immediately

You may have had a Smash Burger before, but have you ever tried a Smash Donut? If you haven’t, you’ll want to by the time I’m done.

I was on a trip to Boise, Idaho, to visit family when we came across this place called YoNutz. They claim to be the home of the "Smash Donut," and if you’ve never had one, you need to.

What is a Smash Donut?

The Smash Donut starts with a fresh donut.  They slice it in half (like a hamburger bun) and put a huge scoop of ice cream.  Then they take that whole thing and put it in what looks like a waffle maker. When it comes out, the donut is warmed up, but the ice cream is still cold. The menu had all kinds of combinations for you to try that they would make by order, but I’m sure if you wanted to, you could create your own.

Mine was the chocolate brownie that was made with chocolate ice cream and topped with chocolate drizzle, brownie bits, and m&ms. It was amazing!  We also had one that was made with biscoff cookies, one with Nutella, cookies and cream, and strawberry shortcake.

We need one of these in Buffalo!  

It's hard to believe with all the incredible donut and ice cream places that we have in Western New York, that someone doesn't already make desserts like this. Or have they already? I've never seen anything like it but if you've seen one, please let me know!  I need to try it!
