Charlap’s Closing Their Iconic West Seneca Location For Good

It's not uncommon for an ice cream shop to close up at the end of the season. However, it doesn't look like that's the case for Charlap's in West Seneca.

Nick Charlap's announces closure of West Seneca location

Today on Facebook, Nick Charlap's announced that they will be saying goodbye to their West Seneca location at 1203 Union Road at Main, and it looks as though it will be a permanent closure there.

Charlap's is looking for a new location in West Seneca

They didn't give a reason for the closure but said that the decision "wasn't easy." However, if you live in West Seneca and love getting your Nick Charlap's fix, it appears they're still looking to stay in West Seneca, they will just be looking for a "new address." They said to just stay tuned to their Facebook page, and they will update you there.

Charlap's was one of the main ice cream shops of my youth

When we were growing up, we used to always stop at Charlap's in Boston for a little treat either on the way into Hamburg or on the way home. We would get a cone for the road or just sit outside with a dish under the umbrellas. It was much smaller back then. They've updated that little shop and made it look like you've stepped back in time to the '50s or '60s, and it's really cool.

Nick Charlap's still has 4 other locations aside from the West Seneca location across Western New York to get your ice cream fix, including Hamburg, Angola, Boston, and Kenmore).
