Cheesy Chick Shifts Focus To UB After Closing Williamsville Location
In 2013, Cheesy Chick got their start with a food truck, and then followed their success with a couple of locations across Western New York. Unfortunately, they're going to be closing some of their doors soon, but not all of them!
Cheesy Chick is changing direction
For the past decade, Cheesy Chick has been serving up grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, and more from food trucks and their cafe locations. However, according to Buffalo Business First, they will be changing direction a little bit this summer. They will be ending operations at their Williamsville location on Main Street (5885 Main Street) on July 11th. They will be consolidating their operations at the University at Buffalo's North Campus.
Why are they closing that location?
There are two reasons why they're going to close that location. The first is a raise in rent to lease that space. The owner Simone Fancher, says that they've been going month to month with the building owner for months now.
They also cite low sales over the past couple of months as another reason for closing.
What's next for Cheesy Chick?
The goal from here on out for Cheesy Chick is to consolidate their efforts into the UB location and a couple of food trucks. Fancher says they're hoping to bring some of their customers from Williamsville to the UB location with a coupon and discount.
We are offering a coupon and discount for anyone from the Main Street location who wants to go to UB. We’re hoping to get some of our traffic from here over there.” - Simone Fancher
They will also have two or three food trucks on the road and already have multiple events booked.
