The Alphabet Challenge: We Visited 26 Restaurants From A-Z In Buffalo, NY

A few years ago, I started telling you about something I called "The Alphabet Challenge" where we visited restaurants in Western New York depending on what letter their name began with. We finally made it all the way through. Here are the restaurants we visited.

How does "The Alphabet Challenge" work?

The idea started when my wife and I decided to go out to dinner with my cousin and her husband to the Anchor Bar. It had been awhile since we had been there and we wanted to check it out again. While we were there, we started talking about how many other restaurants we hadn't been to in awhile, and some that we've heard about, but never had the chance to try for ourselves.

So we decided that we would challenge ourselves to go to some new places over the next couple of months. We would go to dinner once a month and visit a new place each month with a restaurant whose name began with the next letter in the alphabet. We started at Anchor Bar, so the next week we went to a place called Bellini's Bistro. Then we went to Charlie's Boatyard, then a place called Dick & Jenny's, and so on.

We finally finished the entire alphabet

It literally took us years, but we did it. We went to a different restaurant every month in Western New York. They weren't all in the city of Buffalo. Some were in the suburbs, or further. But we stayed in order and visited 26 restaurants over that time. Here is the full list that we checked out:
